Heard of the Acai Berry?

Until recently, few people had heard of the acai juice but, nowadays, it is hard to not notice the large number of products containing acai berry on the market. Not only there is a large number of acai berry products sold in health food stores such as the vitamin store GNC or Whole Foods but you will usually find plenty of acai berry juices in ordinary grocery stores such as Wal-Mart, Hy-Vee, Kroger, Vons, Price Chopper and so on. Basically, if you are curious to try an acai berry juice, it is easy to just pick one up when you are at the stores.

People started to pay more attention to the acai berry when they hear about all its health benefits. Not only some well known experts and scientists claim that perhaps the fruit of the acai palm tree is one of the most nutrient rich fruits on the planet, but some researchers even published that there is a possibility that it might help in finding a cure for cancer. In a well known experiement conducted and published by the University of Florida, the acai berry is supposed to kill a lot of cancer in sample cells. More research needs to be conducted, of course, however many people are already hopeful because it is a great discovery which can lead to scientists finding a cure for cancer.

Because there are so many acai berry products these days, it can be hard to decide which ones are the best on the market and which ones you need to be taking. Since the acai berry comes from the Rain Forests of Brazil, in some villages there, you might be able to buy fresh acai berries. If you live outside of Brazil and do not like drinking acai juices then there are a lot of other options including acai smoothies, acai powder, acai tea, and acai ice cream or sorbet that you can choose from. Most of them are all good for your health.

Salty Plums an all Natural Cure all

It was years ago while I was trekking through Asia that I first came across an odd type of sweet once I took notice of them they were everywhere I went. These humble salty plums come in so many different varieties, and ironically some salty plums are not salty.

They come in sugar coated , dried and flavored and of coarse salted, it seemed that you could pretty much salt any type of fruit you wanted. There was preserved mango and paw paw as well as some other interesting salty plums choices.

Salting actually is the same as drying and is used in conjunction with a drier or in some cases as a for of drying, the salt is used not only to provide certain taste but also a preserving effect.

Benefits of  salt in salty plum

Now before you begin to worry about the health issues arising from salt. Fear not salt is actually a great preservative which when consumed preserves cells and vessels; mind you this is just my opinion.

When consumed in to greater quantities Salt can contribute to hypertension and high blood pressure and its associated problems so moderation is advised.

In fact salt is critical for your body to function it is needed by peoples who work in hot climates and sports persons who sweet a lot to replace what is lost by via sweating.

Health Benefits of Plums

As you probably know, prunes have been associated with many beneficial effects and that they are high in antioxidants. Well salty plums are the same as prunes just they have been dehydrated with salt rather than air and sun. They also facilitate increased Iron absorption associated with the vitamin c in the fruit.

Putting it all together.

So now that you know the basics about the humble salty plum all you have to do is consider the combined benefits and you get a treat that is not only a great treat but also a semi healthy one as well.

Now for the good news in some countries they are used to treat digestion, colds ,flus ,morning sickness and hangovers. These things I know you will agree can do with a quick and reasonably natural remedy.

Helping Local Business Owners Make Money Online

How to make money From Home With Affiliate Products

Most people are like this hopeless chocolate cookies business owner, facing great difficulties after they impulsively join the bandwagon of offline business. They don't know how to optimize the Internet and they are having difficulties promoting their business. They only just built a website and were waiting for the outcome. They miss the fact that almost everyday there are hundreds or even thousands of businesses like them that are mushrooming in the net, fighting for customers attention. Their website becomes stagnant and so the same happens to their businesses. But then there are ready solutions in the net that can boost your business competitively against others. These solutions are guaranteed for your offline business to have a lead in the race and can have your competitors eat your dust.

Stick to your niche. It is absolutely critical that you stick with affiliate products that fit your list…don't just pick any item because it is selling well or has a great commission rate. So for example, you never want to try to sell a quilting list something about Internet Marketing because they won't have any idea what you want them to buy. It's like trying to mix oil and water; it just won't work. If you do it, there is a small chance you will make a few sales, but what you are really going to get is a lot of people unsubscribing from your list!.

Provide Original Content. Blog about what you are passionate about. Don't just copy various blogging articles and expect to have anyone read it. Your visitor has more than likely read the same blog somewhere else and they will click off your blog faster than they found it.

Finding affiliate programs. There are a lot of sites and affiliate programs out there…here are some of the biggies: ClickBank, PatDotCom, Commission Junction.

Don't Combine Apples and Oranges. Keep your blogs aimed at the same subject. You can branch off a little but don't blog about baby shoes and then add a blog for growing roses. Your visitor will become confused and leave. Understand, they want a blog about a certain subject not several subjects all jumbled together. The key to how you can make money from blogging is to keep your visitor coming back for more. The more visitors you get to your blog site and more money you will make, it's that simple. Traffic relates to income.

Sometimes they don't use the word "affiliate", even though it is probably the most frequent term, so look around-especially if it is a site that you really like and want to recommend their products. If you can't find anything, go ahead and contact them. It is possible they don't have a program…or maybe it is just hard to find!.

Best Barbeque - Big Green Egg

One of the best BBQ products to hit the market in the last 10 years is the Big Green Egg Grill.  It is a very unique barbecue and it makes grilling and cooking outdoors very simple including an extremely easy assembly process.  This grill allows you to barbecue like a normal BBQ, but you can also grill, smoke products, and with its unique fire brick construction outdoor baking is amazing.

The Big Green Egg has been designed very sleekly and attractively.  It comes in four sizes including the mini, original, large, and extra large.  With this variety of sizes to choose from any household should be able to make use of this unique barbecue. Choosing the correct size for your needs depends basically on how much outdoor grilling you're going to do, as well as the amount of food you need to cook at any time.  If you do a lot of cooking for parties and large groups of people then you're going to want the largest grills size available.

All year long you can use this wonderful BBQ.  The ceramic wall construction has been designed to allow outdoor cooking even in cold winter temperatures below freezing.  Your neighbors may wonder what you're doing outside when it's snowing or freezing rain, but after they see the results from one of your cookouts they will want one also.

The ceramic walls are the key to the grills success because they maintain the temperature that you want much more easily and for the entire cookout.  You have much more control over the cooking temperature from low temperature slow cooking of ribs, too high extremely high grilling for luxury stakes. The service and warranty of these grills has been outstanding, and customer reviews have been more than great.

This barbecue can be used to smoke meats, and it's also excellent for grilling vegetables and other specialty items.  In fact, it is eally similar to a fire brick oven so that you can cook some of the best pizza in town all from your backyard.

The Green Egg Grill has been designed to last a lifetime, and we recommend that the investment is well worth the price.I don't know of any other BBQ's that are anywhere close to the quality of this grill.  There are a number of accessories that are available including the WOK for creating stir fries, and the handy fish grate for grilling your favorite fish.  This fish accessory allows you to cook fish to perfection and maintain the flavors - even baked salmon turns out excellent!

This BBQ is very attractive in design and produces excellent cooking results that can completely replace your kitchen cooking if you love the outdoors.  From grilling to baking, smoking, and high temperature fire brick cooking this will be one of your best cooking investments ever.

Finding BBQ Grills

BBQ, barbecue, barbeque, Bar-B-Q … which is correct? Pick one and use whichever you like. They all refer to the same thing. There may be disagreement about this for generations. The purists will tell you that BBQ is slow smoking with indirect heat from a hardwood fire. Type of fuel, cooking temperature, whether to use a rub, sauce or marinade, and, yes, whether to use aluminum foil or not, are just a few possible variations. And naturally, not everyone agrees on the details.

One option is to simply buy a disposable grill whenever you need one. Charcoal grills are often the cheapest of reusable barbecue grills. Gas grills are the easiest type of barbecue grills to work with. The amount heat can be easily controlled by turning a knob, and many models even include a thermometer.

Barbeque rubs are a healthy alternative for cooking flavorful foods without using a lot of fattening oils in your coking. Note that diabetics may prefer homemade barbeque rubs using Stevia. The palate won't know what hit it! Widespread herb irradiation, hydrolyzed cornstarch, MSG, artificial sweeteners, corn syrup, sugar, and other taste impostors will hurt your body whilst tricking your taste buds. In other words, don't rub the meat in a pound of sea salt, cayenne, or anything else that strong for that matter.

About this time of year, people are fed up with being cooped up inside all winter and are ready to see the light of day again. You can achieve a smoked charred flavor without having to use a bbq grills smoker or by having to char. You will also be able to attain tenderness and juiciness using your oven. Spring BBQ's are a great way to get friends together who you haven't seen for awhile. My favorite spring games are games that are simple to learn and tough to master. Good examples of this are horseshoes or washers. This game has really picked up steam during the past few years, thanks to a lot of national press on the sport.

Many of us are happy with just cooking out for our family, but including neighbors, friends, and coworkers can also be an equally enjoyable time. Proper planning helps to ensure that your party will turn out the best that it can be. In addition to meats (sirloins, ribs, etc), popular side dishes may include toss salads, baked beans, coleslaw, plus potato chips and dip. This encourages participation!

America Loves Pie!

  1. Love pie? Well find me a Pharaoh that doesn’t!

Pies are no spring chickens! They've been being devoured for thousands of years. It’s suspected that the first pies were created in Egypt and were filled with honey, fruits and nuts… much like the pecan, coconut and chocolate pies that we know and love today. Greek merchants embraced the pie movement and helped it cross the ocean to Europe where it was a huge hit with the Romans, the Spaniards, the British and ultimately found it's way to my plate here in Jackson, TN!

  1. One for You, 6 For Me!

On average, every adult American will eat 6 slices of pie this year.According to Wikipedia, the most recent survey has the current population at 306 Million of which 73% are adults. That means 223,380,000 people who are munching down 6 pieces of pie each.. that's like… um.. well…. a lot of pie! Pie has penetrated American culture so deeply, that the term "As American as Apple Pie" is common place. Citing a 2008 survey by Crisco, America’s pie preferences are as follows. Starting with the most popular, Apple, pumpkin, pecan, banana cream and cherry. 18% of males go on the record as saying their spouses make the best pie, while not surprisingly, only 2% of women return the compliment!

  1. The Upper Crust

Pie is one of the few foods that can lay claim to its own official organization! You don’t hear much about the vegemite committee of America, but sure enough The American Pie Council is alive and well. “Designed to raise awareness, enjoyment and consumption of pies”, the APC organizes several annual events including the National Pie Championships and National Pie Day (which by the way is January 23rd – mark your calendars!) Membership has 3 levels – Amateur, Professional and Commercial and entitles you to a tart shell full of benefits not least of which is the official newsletter – Pie Times (of course it is…)

You can prepare potatoes by boiling them, steaming them, or perhaps roasting them. If at all possible, you should avoid putting potatoes in the chiller or freezing them, as cold will turn the potato starch to sugar and make them to turn dark when

Dehydrated Potato What You Don't Know Can Actually Harm You

Dehydrated potatoes are basically the same as instant potatoes, and this latter term is doubtless more familiar to you. If you are like thousands of other Americans, you buy dehydrated potatoes on a constant basis and often use them in your cooking.

Think about how often you have gone to the local grocery store to buy dehydrated potatoes. Once a week? Twice a month? In those times that you have got a pack that claims "Instant Potatoes," have you checked the package for the list of ingredients contained in the pack? Next time you go out to buy your favorite brand of dehydrated potatoes, you must try having a look at the list of ingredients. You may be in for a shock.

Actually, we have done that to one of the less expensive makes of dehydrated products - check out its ingredients, that is. We went to our local Aldi's and grabbed a box of "Great Worth Instant Potatoes." You would expect the package to contain potatoes, and nothing else right? In fact, it's just instant potatoes, so what else should be in there?

Here is a list of the ingredients that are actually included in the pack of dehydrated potatoes:

- potato ( you would truly be shocked if this wasn't included )
- monocerides (these are fats)
- diglycerides (another kind of fats)
- sodium acid pyrophosphate ( this is basically a chemical employed in electroplating )
- sodium metabisulfate (this chemical is used with antioxidants )
- citric acid ( a weak acid used for flavoring )
- BHT or butylated hydroxytoluene (a fat and oil antioxidant which has been quite questionable in the food-processing industry )

Out of all these listed ingredients, the sole one that actually has business being in a pack of dehydrated potatoes is the potato itself. So what are all the other stuff doing in there? Just seeing the amount of chemicals involved in making dehydrated potatoes will make you want to think twice about purchasing them again.

You do have the option of making your own dehydrated potatoes. You may be sure that there are no harmful chemicals added, and you can have a good time making them. The method is fairly simple, and you can make it into a fun activity for the family, particularly if you have kids around. For more data see http://www.dehydratedfoodguide.com/Articles/Dehydrated_Mushroom.php on Dehydrated Mushroom.

When making dehydrated potatoes at home, just follow these simple steps:

1. Cut your potatoes into thin slices.
2. Put them in a warm oven.
3. Keep turning them till they become crispy and dry.
4. Mash them into powder and store them in airtight containers.

You can ask your children to help in this last part. Just make sure that everything is orderly so you will not have to wash up too much afterwards.

Insider Tips On Bread Making

bread making

There really is nothing quite like biting into a fresh, warm piece of homemade bread. The bread has a warm yeast flavor that seems to permeate your senses and leaves you craving for another slice. Making bread is not as hard as you might think. There are many ways that you can make bread and some are so easy that you will begin to wonder why you never attempted bread making before. Plus, if you decide to use a bread machine, then it gets even easier!

Bread making requires a recipe for the bread. There are many different types of recipes available through books and on the internet. You can find everything from scone recipes to garlic bread recipes if you know where to look. When you are choosing a bread to make, just make sure to choose one that you absolutely love. There are also some great bread machine makers on the market that you may want to look at as well.

If you want to skip out on the bread maker and make bread from scratch, then you'll want to start with a simple biscuit recipe. Biscuits are amazingly simple to make once you assemble the necessary ingredients. You will need flour, salt, shortening, baking soda, baking powder, milk and something to cut the biscuits. Take 2 cups of flour and add it to the bowl, along with 2 tablespoons of baking powder, 2 tsp of baking soda and 1/4 cup of shortening. Your next step is to mix until it resembles cornmeal. Add just enough milk to make it into semi-firm dough. Turn it out onto a floured rolling surface and press into 1" squares.

Cut the biscuits out and place them on a baking sheet. Brush with a little butter and place them in a 350 degree, preheated oven. Let them bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. There you have it; a very easy biscuit recipe. Scone recipes are very similar to this and you will enjoy them just as much. After you are comfortable working with biscuit dough, you can then start thinking about finding bread making recipes so you can enjoy hot, fresh bread from scratch.

Cook With Filtered Water…

Have you considered the importance of water? Did you know that water accounts for over seventy percent of your body? Our bodies are mostly water. Salt water has a mineral composition similar to our own blood. So water is more important to us than just something we put in our oral irrigators

A healthy water intake can help us in so many ways:

- You can pay attention better. A fully hydrated brain actually works better.

- Strength increases. Did you know that your muscles work better when your body is fully hydrated?

- Your immune system will be healthier.

- Flush junk out of your body. A fully hydrated body is better at getting rid of the things it DOESN'T need.

- You might be amazed at how much more energy you can have when you drink adequate amounts of water.

- Water can help to keep your breath fresh, much like therabreath products.

There are just so many good reasons to take in a good and adequate supply of water. Needless to say, you can probably see why it is important to have clean water - especially for an oral irrigator.

Advice from experts vary but it is typically agreed that the average person probably needs to take in 2 liters of water per day. Check with your physician before altering your intake though.

Once I worked for a company that sold water filters. One of their products was a whole house filter. The interesting thing about this filter was that it had a clear area where you could see what was trapped in the filter.

I hope you are ready for this. Water supplies are often dependent on recycled water. Many people are vaguely aware of this but don't want to think about it.

What this means is that all of your waster water,.e., when you flush the toilet, goes back into the system. It is 'filtered' and 'treated' and might come right back at you in the form of a glass of water out of your tap. Not to be too disgusting here, but this is a fact of life. And you should be aware of it.

What was found in that 'see through' filter mentioned above was little flaky white particles that looked suspiciously like toilet paper.

Chemical analysis was not done to validate this and who knows what I was really seeing there. However, it made me interested in learning more about my drinking water.

I use a filter for the water I drink now and I love it. I also cook with filtered water. Drinking clean filtered water is really great. The taste, or actually the lack of taste, because pure water doesn't have taste or odor, can be quite a dramatic contrast to what you might be used to.

Not all filters are created equal. Some take out lead and heavy metals, some just filter for taste. So you really have to do a little research and make sure you are getting a filter that is right for you, one that will fulfill your needs.
