Best Foods For Someone At University

Moving To University is a big step into the unknown and when it comes to cooking skills it has to be said, not many students are experts in it. Although ready meals are okay for you on the rare occassion, I have to say that they would not do you any good in the long run and there are foods you can buy for less money that will be a lot better.

Carb Time

Getting enough carbs down you is something that is very important indeed and there are many options out there you can take.

Althougn many people do not like it, porridge is something that is very important indeed and can provide you with a great start to the day. You can mix it with a variety of things such as fruit and honey.

Potatoes are also an option that you should really look into simply because there are so many things you can do with it. Baked potatoes are very cheap indeed and you can have so many fillings that are cheap too like tuna, beans, cheese and prawns. You can also do so many things with them such as boil, roast, Sautee or fry them which means you can add a bit of variety to the mix.

Fruit and Veg

Although you may not be bothered about getting those five a day I would strongly reccommend you do simply because it helps you out. Carrots have to be top on the most affordable vegetable and this is why they are very popular amongst students.

Meat Eaters

Protein is very important too and if you thought beans on toast was unhealthy you would be wrong as without the sugars and salt beans are great protein.. On top of this make sure you cook yourself some decent meats from time to time as well.

So although you cannot afford private catering and it is way too early to think about things like wedding caterers you can get yourself some decent tasting food.
