Alternative Uses For Roller Grills

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Roller grills may seem like items designed just for cooking hot dogs, but they can be so much more. You can use a hot dog roller grill to make a wide array of delicious cylinder shaped food items. I wrote this article to tell you about some of the unique foods you can cook on your hot dog roller grills. I’ll also give you some items that other companies are currently using on their roller grills.

Sausages are the most commonly cooked roller grill items we find other than hot dogs. Kebabs, spicy sausages, sweet sausages, and hot sausages are all staples of the roller grill family of cooked foods. These items are great for those that are looking to appeal to folks that want something similar to a hot dog but with a little more flair. Hot dog condiments and hot dog buns can both be used with sausages, so you won’t have to make any big changes.

The foods we are really excited about are the increasingly ethnic dishes that can be added to roller grills. We are seeing foods such as hot Mexican tortillas, egg rolls, spring rolls, pizza rolls, cheese sticks, and a whole assortment of specially made roller foods. You’ll find that these foods are like hot pockets, because you can place almost any type of tasty food in them. For example, you could fill a roll with shrimp and noodles to make a shrimp Alfredo roll. You could expand your product line and your food selection dramatically without having to buy any new cooking devices.

Shops like Seven Eleven, Sheetz, and Turkey Hill, are currently using a large array of unique roller grill items to eat. An entirely novel market has been built just by using their hot dog roller grills to cook new items. Why wouldn’t a business want to increase their product line and profit margin by providing customers with more choices?

If your unsure as to whether or not you can sell items other than hot dogs on your hot dog cooker, why not test out an item and see how it does? Add hot and spicy sausages first to get people used to seeing items other than hot dogs on your roller grill. If you end up making more money from the new item, you can always add more and more until you find you are no longer making any additional revenue. This way of adding and subtracting items will help you make more money without having to take any big risks.
