Birds of a Feather, a beautiful oceanfront Victoria Bed and Breakfast, offers land tours almost anywhere in the region (including up island or travelling by ferry to the mainland or Gulf Islands) either in addition to or separate from a stay at the B&B. Tours are private, and you have the unique opportunity to customize your day trip.

An H3 Hummer is your chariot for the day. The H3 is a 5 cylinder more environmentally conscientious relative of the larger H2. The H3′s spacious interior seats 5 adults quite comfortably, and it runs smoothly on highways then transitions easily to rugged terrain.

Land tours are available any time of the year; however it is advisable to book in advance as typically only one tour per week is scheduled. The tours are perfect for two people, though a third person is sometimes permitted. A day of touring for two is $485 with $75 added for a third person. Lunch is included in the cost. The tours do not have a set time but generally last between 5 and 7 hours.

Examples of day trips include a tour up island to see the postcard beauty of the west coast, a tour of nearby vineyards to do wine-tastings, off-roading adventures in rugged logging areas and other back road territory, real estate scouting for those considering a move to the region, trips from one side of Vancouver Island to the other to see the picturesque Juan de Fuca, Haro, and Georgia Straits (a 255 km route), or an island-hopping tour exploring the Gulf Islands (Salt Spring Island is a favourite as it has local artisans and an open air market).
